copy and paste on ebay?

Hi

I have my first item for sale on ebay. I have just noticed that somebody else has placed the same item (mobile phone) for sale and they have copied and pasted my picture and most of my written info. Is this allowed? As a newbie to ebay with very little feedback i am worried that people will now be concerned about bidding on my item if they notice this very very similar auction.

Any advice appreciated.

  • I don't think this is allowed. I think you can report them for that.

Maybe try emailing them and asking them about it?

    Thanks,

Happened to me once. I reported them and their listing was removed.

You could always change the pic so that the rip-off seller finishes up with this from the link he's using:

Why not 'Ghost' your own name across the centre of your photographs?

That way nobody can steal them and use them in their own auctions.

This has happened to me twice. In both cases I emailed the sellers and politely told them it was against Ebay rules and they both sent me apologetic emails and amended their listings.
