The card was always paid on time and at least 4x the min payment and we had it for years and used it regularly.
Totally unjust!
What a rubbish company!

The title above post number 4 is irrelevant.
Posting a copy of the letter is irrelevant.
The terms and conditions of your agreement you signed means your one man crusade against Barclaycard is, you guessed it, irrelevant.
They are the lender, they call the shots. Deal with it.0 -
i can understand the OP point though....
just to cancel the card whilst giving flimsey info is just plain crazy

Help them out by moving any savings accounts you have with Barclays to another Bank/Building SocietyI have a deep burning indifference0

When was the last time you used the card?0

"The card was always paid on time and at least 4x the min payment and we had it for years and used it regularly."
The card was used every month without fail. Not one payment had ever been missed or paid late in over 7 years. Sometimes the balance was paid in full, but always at least 4x the min payment.
Still, like one poster pointed out, why bother with them?
Got a Gold card from another company only the other week, do you think that may have something to do with it? The limit on the Gold card is significantly more than the Barclaycard.
I will of course be reporting them to the FSA (yes I know the FSA do naff all) when they fail to deal with the complaint I am about to make.
As we have just come back from hols this could have been really inconvenient had we been counting on using this card for some essential item, like petrol for instance and they had just cancelled the card without warning when we were away and could not have seen the letter.
I hope they go down the pan with the rest of the stinking banks!0 -
"For no reason?" They gave you one in the letter - they've reviewed your current financial situation, and believe that you will (soon) be unable to keep repayments on your card if you continue to spend on it.
You clearly disagree with this, but it's unfair to say they've done it for no reason.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

Have you checked your credit reports lately to see what's on there?
