Hi there,
Just moved into new home. We have a telephone line by the previous occupiers, think it was with Virgin? I wanted sky boradband/tv & phone package but the guy said it would cost £17 pm for the internet not £10.00 as we are not on the bt exhange? Is this rubbish as we have a phone line?
Really bad with technology so if anyone could help would be fab. Also after this point if you shop around between BT/Sky you save a pound?!?!
xx

To get Sky broadband you need to have a BT telephone line.
The Virgin network is closed and cannot be accessed by other broadband ISPs.
If you have a BT telephone line then the service they can provide is dependent on whether Sky have their equipment installed in your exchange, this is called LLU.
If they have then the prices are £5, 10 or £15/month for the base, mid or max packages, if you also take Sky talk there is a £5/month discount.
If you are on a non LLU exchange Sky will only be able to provide their Connect package which is £17/month(ish)That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Put your exchange into the Samknows website. It'll tell you what providers are available. You can see from there if Sky are at your exchange.
As penrhyn says, it looks like Sky would provide you with their non-LLU package.Dave. :wave:0
