Vodafone mobile broadband

I've purchased a laptop with Vodafone mobile broadband built in. It's working and the test claims the signal strengh is 71 and the speed is 7.2 Mbps (which I think is good) but it runs like an arthritic slug. IE 90 seconds to download a webpage that takes 6 seconds via virgin broadband.

Does anyone have any idea's why its so slow?
Regards

PS I'm running McAfee internet security with Vista.

7.2 Mbps? I'd be amazed if you were getting that.

What do the specs here show http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk ?

Terrible software. Vista already has plenty security software in-built and you can add a free anti-virus like BitDefender www.filehippo.com/download_bitdefender
  • i have the same i think like a contract laptop mine is, i struggle sometimes dependant on where i am with it but mine is generally ok, speed test is a good idea i use the one built into bittorrent but it give me a decent reading
If your in too deep dont hide away from it face it head on, I did and I won

    Thats quite fast for [url=http://www.three.co.uk/Mobile_Broadband
]mobile broadband[/url], webpage loading that slow might have to do with how much is running on your laptop instead of mobile broadband. I might trying turning off a bunch of bacnground programs (maybe including macafee) or download cleaning programs such as CCleaner or malwarebytes and see what they find.
