Treo 650

I fancy this phone - am keen to combine PDA functions with a phone, don't want to carry 2 seperate gadgets.

Anyone got one and do they recommend it? Is it much better than other smartphones eg spv c600?

Finally, anyone know any good deals - I only use about 100 mins/month.

I am a huge fan of the Treo. I orginally had a 600 and upgraded to a 650 and it really is a remarkable bit of kit. Best features are :
1) Good call quality
2) Excellent browsing and email
3) Email facility to work like Blackberry (ie push mail via IMAP - sounds complicated but really isn't) - you don't login to get your mail, it tells you when you've got one
4) Superb screen
5) You can download just about any application you can think of to work on it (including Tetris!)
6) It's an MP3 player.
7) Battery life is good for something like this....

Not sure where you will get deals, but they have a new version coming out. Visit mytreo.net for info so they might be available cheaper soon. It's got a huge fanbase (including Bill Gates I believe!)

I would recommend getting it with at least a 1yr warranty though - I've had no major problems but have had to have it replaced because the headphone socket went funny (I broke it! - and it was covered by insurance)

Only negatives are camera isn't the best and the speaker connector is the small one and so you need special headphones (approx £15) if it doesn't come with any...

i second marlowtech. great peice of technology except for lack of bluetooth, wifi and terrible camera. No deals on it in UK that are worth mentioning. The suppliers think if you want one of these the company must be paying!!

Treo 700 is out and has much better specs. It's not out in UK (not even mentioned on palm uk site), so discounts on 650 will follow shortly.

It does have bluetooth (the 650 has it, not the 600)
