Just had this reply:

Could you not contact anyone who has bought from him and send them a copy of your notes and ask them if they are the same and if they are, can they forward on the email he sent them?Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0

Getting real here "You have no chance of getting any satisfaction from ebay", put it down to experience and move on.0

I have no idea what he means by this - that they are commercial LAW notes, or that they are commercially available? If he means they are commercially available, then he's right in the sense that I have been selling them. However, I made them and gave him no rights to sell it on!grayme-m wrote:Could you not contact anyone who has bought from him and send them a copy of your notes and ask them if they are the same and if they are, can they forward on the email he sent them?
I did actually "buy" some of his notes but never paid him as I didn't really want to pay him for my own notes. The only reason I did it was because he only had one set left, and I wanted to stop him selling them to somoene else and getting paid for it! I am certain that these notes are just copies of mine, as he has been using pictures of MY diagrams to sell them. These aren't availalbe anywhere else, so I'm 100% sure they are mine.
Also, I found the confirmation of his purchase of the notes from me back in August:
Grrrr it makes me so annoyed!
Thanks for all of your support on this though, I'm not really sure what to do next really. Furry has a point, Ebay are pretty useless when it comes to things like this. I filed a report that he was using my images on his advert (as this was the quickest thing I could find to do to try and get them taken off) but as yet I've heard nothing.
Maybe I should send him a letter as I have his address? I could threaten him with legal action but it seems pretty useless. I just wanna get him to stop!
Thanks everyone!

Hey everyone,
I've just found out someone else is now selling my notes, except not just one set, but all of them, for £10 a piece! More than I sell them for! This is getting ridiculous! Pleaaase help! I'm just a 3rd year law student, and I'm just trying to raise some money to do volunteer work in Cambodia!!
I have considered writing them both letters, asking them to stop, and then saying that I will get legal advice on the matter if they don't, but I don't know if that will help. As some of these were notes made from my lectures, will this stop me bringing a claim against these people?
I've not studied intellectual property so I have no idea about this area of the law.
Thanks for any help you can give me,
Best Wishes,

I hate to say it but let it go. You are giving yourself a lot of grief and you are probably not going to get anywhere if you can't pay for a solicitor and some professional advice.
I recently tried to get Ebay involved because someone was threatening me over a mistake Paypal had made and Ebay just told me it was not their responsibility and that I should contact the person direct and ask them to stop!!! I contacted the police and they could do nothing either.
Just move on, you could try contacting them as you suggest and ask them to stop but don't hold your breath.
Good luck with your trip.

I'm sorry to hear you've had problems with Ebay too.
Thanks, I know it's a bit futile but the amount of hours I put into the work, and the amount of money they have been getting for them (£100ish) in less than a month is really frustrating. My boyfriend's mum is a solicitor so she may be able to write a letter for me, but taking it further will be expensive, and probably won't stop them anyway.
I guess I may just have to let it go soon, but I really wanted to make them stop.

Hi.
You will automatically own the copyright regardless of whether you wrote (c) "your name" on the document or sent it to yourself by registered post or anything like that.
The trouble is: proving it.
If you can do this - maybe show the original notes or something, then you should be able to get this guys auctions shut down.:: No Links in signatures please - FM ::0 -
You could try sabotaging their auctions- open a duplicate account and buy all their items, and never pay up. Then leave them negative feedback saying 'Plagiarised Material'. They will lose their listing fees each time, and it may eventually deter them0
