Counter for Website

if a client asked me to display a hit counter on their website, i'd actually tell them that's it is outdated, and is really unneeded.
I'm the web designer, so i know web design, whereas they know everything about their business..
if they think they know better than me, so be it, but i'll make sure they're aware that it is the wrong way to do things...

Simple really
Not really, I specifically said that this was in addition to analytics0 -

Very much in agreement with this. It should not be 'what the client wants the client gets' because it reflects on you, the designer, who will be seen to be using outdated and amateurish technologies.0 -
Wow, lots of assumptions going on here. Who decided I was a web designer just because I referred to someone as a client?
Anyway, Statscounters as recommended is pretty good. I refer you back to the very first post:Able to show a physical hit counter graphic on the page if required
Note the bit in bold.0 -

It has no relevance to the thread what I am or what I am not, or indeed why I want something.
Thanks to the people who gave me answers after actually reading the first post properly
Edit: I see you deleted your post, however I am not deleting my quote of it.0 -
Well after reading this I can see that you don't need any assistance on how to make rude and sarcastic replies to people who were only trying to help.0

I thanked people who offered suggestions, rather than people who ignored my original post and then told me I was in the wrong. Nothing wrong with that0
