Counter for Website

After a new hit counter.

Requirements:

• Free
• Reliable
• Well established
• Able to insert the code into multiple sites and view them all from the admin interface (as opposed to logging into seperate accounts for each site)
• Stats of a similar detail to AWStats
• Able to show a physical hit counter graphic on the page if required (rules out Google Analytics - although that is used in addition)

Anyone able to recommend one?

Statcounters is a good one

I have used them in the past, they have something to do with seperate code, look into them though! They give all the user stats too

i've used statcounter, as jaffa mentioned above. it's free and pretty good. It hits most of your requirements. It defo worth a look.

I've always thought hit counters on webpages were a bit amateurish in a Geocities kind of way.

Just my opinion of course.

Oops, what I meant to say was, use Google Analytics and then code a display thing yourself? All you need to do is get the IP of the user and store in a database. Then just make a count of all the unique IPs and display that number.
