Another pre-holiday site to visit is https://www.brochurebank.co.uk a good range of holiday brochures delivered to your door for free0

I don't think the following have been mentioned:
https://www.flyertalk.com which is an international forum for all things travel and has some brilliant posts including money saving tips and airmile collection tips.
Also https://www.seatguru.com - which has everything you need to know about the flight you're travelling on, particularly baggage restrictions and laptop points but also a guide to seating on most airlines with seats to look out for and avoid!0 -
This is the cheapest holiday website i have ever come across.
http://freedomdirect.co.uk/
Can anyone beat it?0 -
albalad wrote:although i love the idea and frequently use review websites , I don't like the idea or practice that we should have to pay for this advice !
i prefer free to use sites such as tripadvisor , holidaytruths etc albeit they are more aimed at the foreign holiday market ........ anyway must run....... I've got a flight to catch0 -
I've just looked at this and the £10 offer was just for August, but they are giving one year's free subscription to anyone who posts a review in September and free to anyone who post a review of wheelchair-friendly places, which seems fair0

Hi all,
As mentioned in Martin's article re hunting for the best package deals, he advises that you check out Teletext on your tv which is complelty spot on.
If however you don't have Teletext on your tv or you're doing most of your searching whilst sat at your desk at work (obviously, all in your lunch break...) you can actually view those same exact pages which come up on your tv through the Teletexholidays website.
Please see link below to a breakdown of destinations and pages offered:
http://ww3.teletextholidays.co.uk/TvtextAds/tv_listings.asp?area=overseas
If for some reason the link doesn't work just log onto>: https://www.teletextholidays.co.uk/ then scroll down to the bottom of the page and on the blue navigation bar click "TV Text Offers".
I've been using this feature of the Teletext website for the last two years now and have racked up some amazing bargains. Because you can select all tv ads for a specific destination you have all the relevant numbers to hand very quickly, no real searching required. I found the best way to do it was to do some independant research myself on the hotel I wanted and then phone all the agents on these pages and grab the best deal - this week I've managed to book a 5* deluxe - luxury resort and spa, with flights, in-flight meal, private taxi transers, sea view room for 7 nights in Crete for £309 - H/B and £349 A/I (including full use of each of the 5 a la carte restaurants, spa treatments and all watersports plus the usual). The first quote I was offered for this specific hotel was £725 so it really does pay to shop around and give agents the opportunity to either match or beat their competitors.
Hope this was useful, please let me know if you do need any further info,
Cheers,
Monique0 -
