Hi great post!
I love using "tripadvisor" to read and post on. Its a great resource.
I have used alpha rooms for some quite good deals.
Also on occasion a website called "webweekends" that will often redirect you to superbreaks.com can bring up some fantastic deals on the bargain section.
Superbreaks can be very good for airport parking at hotels and simply staying at the hotels in question.
For example I stayed at the lovely Crown Plaza Nec when I went to the an event at the Nec at the start of December. I paid £57 pounds for the room (no breakfast) for that night. I searched under the hotel and airport parking section. It was impossible to get a rate anywhere near that elsewhere for me. I looked on the priority website ( loyalty club) and other sites and there was nothing under at least a £100!
I have used this trick a couple of times now.

Gives you the chance to say what you REALLY thought of where you stayed - good, bad, indifferent.

although i love the idea and frequently use review websites , I don't like the idea or practice that we should have to pay for this advice !

i prefer free to use sites such as tripadvisor , holidaytruths etc albeit they are more aimed at the foreign holiday market ........ anyway must run....... I've got a flight to catch

Check out https://www.hotdestinations.org for trips to Venezuela.

I used them for a trip to the Angel Falls ( highest in the world) and a tour of Gran sabana and Canaima for numerous other waterfalls. Some decent videos on the site.

budgetflyer

Another good budget airline search engine is www.wegolo.com
You can search by REGION ie Scotland or England (central) to specific destinanations ie Alicante therefor giving more choice of low fares.
Only downside is you can only search specific dates as opposed to broad search

It seems to have a lot more about budget travel in Europe too. Quite homemade looking but well worth a look.
