Moving house - Plusnet - what to do!??

I am currently on a month by month rolling contract, I pay £9.99 a month
Plusnet have told me that my options now i'm moving house are:
Continue on my current package and pay £60 to change the service from one address to the other!
Sign up to a new 12 month contract which is £5.99 for the first 3 months, and then £12:99 thereafter!
Cancel and pay £27 cancellation charge!
I can't believe that either which way i'm going to get ripped off. Anyone have any other option which I don't know about!??

Sounds normal to me.0

personally I would cancel then look for a provider that currently has free connection.0

Normal? It's a bleedin' rip-off. If I cancel, I'll be hit with a £60 fee to disconnect. Anyway - I typed this post yesterday after I spent 40 minutes on the phone to a Plusnet agent in South Africa who told me that I was in “market area 3” – when in fact I’m in market area 2, - so told me that I’d be paying £11.99 a month.
Luckily, after complaining, an English Plusnet agent phoned me back, apologised for the South African agent who gave me the wrong information and said that I am entitled to the £5.99 a month package.
I had great difficulty understanding what the south African plusnet agent was saying to me. She repeatedly put me on hold for up to 15 minutes at a time, - and when I asked her what she had been doing for the past 15 minutes, she had no answer for me!
Luckily I have the direct phone number for the call centre in England now, so hopefully I won’t be wasting so much time and money trying to sort out something which should be straight forward.0 -
You can post the question over at the Plusnet community forum where James or Mand will be able to help.

Thanks. I was aware of that forum, - although I wanted an unbias opinion.. - I presumed that James & Mand work for plusnet0

They do but they are very helpful, know what they are talking about and are able to do deals. Much better than asking front line call centre staff.0

As far as "doing deals", they now say they cannot do any better than front line staff, and there is evidence of this on the successes reported on the MAAF (same company/same reps) thread where £4.50/month has easily been achieved by speaking to the "front line".TBH if you want to discuss a new contract I'd suggest giving the customer options team a call......They can offer the same deals that Bob, James or any of us can.0
