My local MP was holding booked appointments day, I gate crashed it and put my case across to him...
He has offered help and I have to send all details of what has gone on so far to him at the House's of Parliament for Tuesday morning for him to start work on helping us...
Let's see if it does any good seeing your MP..0 -
A New CoatI lost my job, no fault of my own and now being next it could be my home. The welfare benefit, there is a long wait; the whole of the system is in such a state. Not asking to claim for a second new home, or even two seats, for my Only Throne. Not asking to claim for a brand new bath plug, not asking to claim for the cleaner, my Bruv. Not asking to claim for a WIDE Screen TV, or one of those late night special movies.Alistair my Darling, you disregard most couples, the 13 week rule is just in a big muddle. My partner works 19 hours part time, the wait for help is still 39...“39 weeks”, the mortgage company shriek, the bailiff letters falling fast at my feet. But don’t worry Mr Brown, or any in office, it’s not your mess, or is it? honest? My kingdom, my castle, my draw bridge, no moat, you all just sit there and claim for a coat.A Wish if I had one and be it just mine, to place you in my shoes, just biding my time.A fight we must win to save our home, a fight we are fighting, all on our own.But don’t you all worry, or twist in your sleep; if it’s not comfy, claim for silk sheets. And if your garden is not all Percy Thrower, I hear Geoff Hoon has a great sit on mower...So why write this poem one might ask, this country, this government is one great big farce.William Hickey 2009 ©0

I was made redundant in March 2009. Signed on for JSA and asked about help towards my mortgage payments.
Turns out as with most people who have worked and found themselves unemployed by no fault of their own you are put onto 'Contribution Based' JSA. While your on this style of JSA you get absolutely NO HELP whatsoever towards your mortgage. You need to be on 'Income Based' JSA and only then might they consider helping you.
I am due to come off Contribution Based soon but it has taken 6 MONTHS for them to revert me to Income Based which makes a mockery of the so called 13 week waiting period.
Luckly i have managed to pay my mortgage with money i had aside and borrowed off family as my mortgage lender was not interested in helping me as i had lost my job and really didn't give a damn.
Ask JSA regarding Mi12 form, as far as they are concerned its nothing to do with them, managed to download a copy online but will have to see what happens once i submit it.
The next 2 weeks will be the cruncher for us (hopefully i can find a suitable job before then though).

:jJust to let everyone know - it has been confirmed that yes if you have had JSA Contribution based you can not back date your MI12 claim. Same shocking winge that if you have worked your behind off and got paid off by the company you gave your life to you end up with no help. However !! wait for it wait for it.. If you have moved from JSA to ESA because you have gone mad, seeing the doc, poppin pills and having to subject yourself to david dickinson getting his own day time show, and the ESA is now contribution based cause you have had to spend all your pay off on keeping the family afloat; then made the MIS 12 claim they will waiver the 13 week period for claiming and will backdate your claim from the date you successfully moved to ESA Employment Support Allowence.
Whoppie dooooo.
