All channels perfect...outdoor ariel, all good, but now channel 5 and CITV have random big groups of coloured pixel squares flashing up and freezing for a split second, getting more than tad annoying now, is there something easy to do.....been doing it for the last 3 days and ONLY those 2 channels.
thank you very much.

You don't say what brand of box you are using. However it must have something like menu/settings/options etc etc. While viewing channel 5 go into the menu and see what the signal strength is. Then do the same for BBC1. If your channel 5 reading is very weak compared to BBC1 then I would suspect your aerial has been dislodged slightly.0

Thank you Scotsbob.
I looked and all channels are at 100%, its built in freeview....its not a brill make but was ok up til 3 days ago (wharfedale)...would retuning be ok, kinda scared incase I lose channels though. Would having it on standby 100% of the time do anything...the plug is VERY hard to get to but my husband can do that sort of stuff later.
edited to say its not on standby..its just not switched off wall so thats not going to make any difference to it. sorry, not sure what I was thinking! You may walk and you may run

It couuld be weather related, the BBC kept "freezing" last week with the hot weather, now OK and back to normal
Perhaps in your case it was raing hard, or whatever
See if it settles once weather changes, if it does then problem solved
Or maybe leaves now coming onto trees?
PS, from freeview site

Weather - Bad weather can have an effect on your reception - strong winds blowing your aerial will affect your signal, as will heavy rain especially in weak signal areas. Good, sunny weather can have an effect on your reception if you're in a weak signal area, due to high pressure atmospherics.
Site has lots of other info as well, worth a readEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Any neighbours you can compare notes with?0

Commonest cause of problems is the use of a crappy "fly-lead" connecting to the wall socket. People will spend hundreds on a TV then pay 50p for the most critical connection. Check it (by replacement). Check the wall socket connections and make sure it's fully screened. Check the cable coming from the aerial.0
