I just got an email from Aqua.

    Dear Mr XXXX

Thank you for your recent request to amend your credit limit.
We've reviewed your credit limit, and unfortunately on this occasion we're unable to approve your request. Your credit limit will therefore remain unchanged at this time.

    Thanks

I was told by the CS guy that I can ask for a limit increase around 3/4 months. He said they should review my account next month anyway.

I'm not that bothered if it gets raised or not. I don't really use them much. Mainly run them up to £200, then pay £100 off each month when I get paid, letting them make a little interest off me. Think the limits at £190 on Aqua and £150 on Vanquis. I should pay £100 off them both next month.

Oh, I also got the decline letter from BarclayCard today. That took them.... a long time to post.

    Hello Mr xxxxxx,

Thank you for choosing an Abbey bank account.

To reassure you that this e-mail is from Abbey, your online application reference number (OLA), that we provided at the end of your online application and asked you to note down, is included in the title of this e-mail.

We're pleased to let you know that we've opened an Abbey bank account for you.

    What's next?

You will shortly receive your card pin number, e-banking passcode and registration number to the address you provided in your application. We can't discuss account specific information in this e-mail, so if you requested an advance overdraft you can see the initial limit we've provided by logging into online banking, calling us on 0845 9 724724 or checking your first statement.

If you already bank online with Abbey you may wish to add your bank account to your existing portfolio. To do this please call us on 0845 9 724724 when you receive your card.

If at any point in the future you would like to switch your main bank account to Abbey from another bank, please complete the attached Switcher Pack and write ‘BANK' with your OLA number, your name and date of birth on the front page of the form. All pages should be completed in full and signed. A separate credit box should be completed for each regular credit to be made to the account. Please return this with your most recent full month's bank statements. We also need confirmation of your current authorized overdraft limit if you have one (often found on your statement).

    Send the completed pack to:

    Freepost RRTL-RXRL-JUEA,
    Abbey Account Openings - BANK,
    9 Nelson Street,
    Bradford,
    BD1 5AN

If you would like to request a cheque book please complete the attached cheque book request form, when you have received your sort code and account number in the post, and return it to the above address.

The attached user guide gives you more information about how your bank account works, so you can make the most of your money. Terms and conditions are also attached. We suggest that you print or save these documents for future reference. To view this file you need to have Adobe Reader installed. If you don't already have it you can download it for free from the Adobe Reader website.

If you have any questions about this, please give us a call on 0800 731 7774, we're available between 8am to 9pm Monday to Friday and 10am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday or pop into your local branch.
