Went into HSBC. They said I shouldn't have been told to go into branch, as they use the exact same system to give out overdrafts and it cannot be overridden by them in branch, and that I should wait 3 months and try again. They took my account number and sort code and said they're going to find out who spoke to me on the phone and make sure they are corrected, as it's bad they're giving out wrong information.

Went into Halifax and asked them why I was declined for a reward current account. They said they cannot look as they use different systems to the online applications and it's most likely to do with the electoral role, as they decline straight away if your not on the ER apparently.

    Oh well.

Vanquis has just called with a special offer. She had trouble getting into the system so will ring me back in a few minutes. How curious am I?

I've just been approved for a capital one card, was so surprised when the letter came with the agreement to sign. No mention of limit or apr just a avarage one quoted .

So thats a vanquis card 3 1/2 months ago and now this one. My credit rating must be improving :-)

Thank you to this thread as I wouldn't of even thought to try and get my rating sorted before the IVA drops of my credit file in 3 yrs time. Now when it does I'll have some shiney green 0's :-), thank you

Also trying to improve my rating..Can I ask a ( dumb ) question please ?

I applied online for a Capital One Card. I got a message saying that they needed to look at my application further, and would write to me. Today I got a letter in saying I had been accepted, and a Credit Card Agreement was enclosed, to return.

Does this definately mean I will get the card ? Also, I returned form today, it said I should have card within 10 days, is this likely to be correct?

Sorry for the daft questions, am just so excited, to think I might be finally getting on the right road again

    Thanks
    I don't know much, but I know I love you ....<3

Its not a definite accept as they may do further checks and change their minds. I have seen it before. But be of good heart.

Thanks for that. I did think that may be the case, I have previously been "provisionally accpeted", then declined. The CCA in the mail has raised my hopes a bit.

Dam !!! the way I thought the letter was that I had been approved, it says I need to sign the agreement and return and I should receive within ten days. Then says when your card arrives you'll enjoy these benefits .......

So does this mean I may not get my card as they stillmight change their mind !
