    Morning!

Well i activated my Initial yesterday and was surprised the guy didn't push me into the ppi sell. He just mentioned it was 69.99 for the year and that was all he said on the matter, so well done to Barclaycard for not pestering it's customers.

Got the decline letter from Cap one on Thursday, usual non-sense about checking with the CRA to see why i was declined.

Vanquis might be my next attempt to build on my green (0)'s.

    Hi all

Hubby got a decline from Cap1 the other day, letter said it was because of financial links (me!).

I had a cap1 debt, and recently reclaimed charges etc.

However we no longer have joint accounts, everything is seperate etc, is it worth appealing, or just writing it off as a wasted search?

Before actually appealing send email to all 3 CRA's requesting they disassociate you - they can only do this if there is no financial link to you both.

If there is any outstanding debt or open accounts the links cannot be broken, in essence they are saying you're financially linked which most partners are.

Any additional cards that may be issued are also classed as linked associates.

    Best of luck.

Edit - just noticed hubby trying at same place you owe money to - avoid this like the plague! Do not appeal, move on to the next lender. Crappy-1 will not budge. They are absolutely shoddy as you get!

Nice one - well done  What limit & apr did you get? Is this BarclayCard Initial you're referring to? (arghhh hate them!)

    I've replied to PM :D
