Being a Barclays customer have you no 'pre-approvals'I only have a Next account and the Argos account, plus my Barclays current account.
1 late payment from last month when Argos balls'd up with my direct debit mandate!
The rest are green '0's.
Might go for the Initial then.

Hopefully the 1 late payment wont cause you problems if it was rectified quickly and you have lots of green zero's from other accounts.
Give it a whirl, you SHOULD get an instant decision, forget the classic stick to initial.

Depending on your credit file I would imagine the initial will be easer to get, both have slightly different criteria.
Intial requires £10k per year, classic is £15k. With the classic they do not like more than 2 active accounts and certainly no missed payments in last 2-3 years.
Have heard varying reports on Intial, some got it with 'old adverse' others including myself were rejected.

I was declined with 2 late payments but it was my fault, it does clearly state in the application criteria that you should not have consecutive missed payments with a creditor in the last 12 monthsOfficial SOS Club number 014 - Dry until 29.11.090 -

Only had the account with them since Feb of this year, previous i was banking with Natwest which put four years worth of green '0's on my file0 -
