    im not brill myself.
but if you go for 3 gig of ram or more
250 gig plus harddrive or more you should be ok with futureproof spec.
dell is good for a novice.they have excellent after sales.acer are good for high spec at a good price.
you have plenty of common sense so as you will know you will get what you pay for.
got my dell from dell finance
acer from littlewoods, its high spec for under 500.
whatever you go for you will get a lot for 350 to 500.
the techie board has loads of advice on which laptop

again im no expert but dont buy from pc world even if you want that one.
im sure it was ebuyer who had that a lot cheaper.
for the same price claire elseware you would get a faster processor ie not 1.6 but 2.0 or more.
i would try a trusted online supplier.the dell would be cheaper at the same spec let me check.

  • claire i cant do links.
but go to dell.select for the home.in laptops and minis select inspiron 15.it will then show your for options.i think option 2 was 4gig ram and 2.0 processor for the same money.should get 10% off at checkout to.you can customise it or buy as is.its there basic chassis but ive got a high spec one its great.with your credit they can quote you, no search for buy now pay later interest free.
or use online retailer for something else.pc world and alike are dear
