Got lots of home bargains today very happy! Also got a kettle and toaster on DTD, it is the Russell Hobbs Heritage range in White. It was an OOD SEL of 23/8. The kettle was £59.97 but priced save £25 and the toaster was £49.97 and priced save £25 so go both for £10! Can't decide if I am keeping them myself or giving as xmas pressie! Managed to reist going to Express store tonight for the glitches as OH said I'm obsessed....never!
  • Hi all,

Have been reading this thread for a while but never been able to contribute as my local seems to be on the ball...until today.

Picked up two straighteners and shavers with SEL from 23/08- both close to half- price. Charged full price.

CS at first would only refund, as 'the offer has ended'. When I insisted and referred to the policy board, they conceeded to JTD. I said that the policy clearly states 'if you were charged more than the price on the shelf, we give you double the difference'? But they insisted and eventually a manager (I think) showed up and spun the same yarn.

In the end I took it but told him that's not what their policy said, he apologised for the unclear wording and said he'd feed it through.
Once home, I phoned CS and told them - the young man said that as the price has changed back to full retail price and I still got them at the discounted one, I wasn't overcharged(!!)..

Now I don't think this is correct and want to pursue it as a matter of principle...have gotten a small DTD in the past under same circumstances and others here seem to get it for OOD SEL's, so how do they justify not following policy in this case?

UPDATE: Just rang Customer Services again and the nice lady confirmed that I would be entitiled to DTD as the label was different to the price I paid.
Asked whether she could sort it, but was told to go back to the store and that she will ring them and advise them to give DTD. Not looking forward to facing the unpleasant CS lady again, but will need to...
either for DTD or refund, lol.

Just managed to get some of the 2 for £3 cooked meats for free in the Li**le Su**on Express, left quite a few on shelf. Some one had completly cleared the other store nearby.
Tesco in Se*la*d rd, Ch*s*er didn't have the olive oil at half price or the Nature Valley Crunch bars on BOGOF so no luck there.
