I am not at all techie so will try to explain the best I can. This is a new PC and I have set up outlook express. When I get mails and they have a link on them or it say click here, I cant get it to work, Is it just the way this system works or is there something I can do to correct it. I also have McAfee and it puts spam mail in a folder, so I don't know if this could affect the emails.
I also don't like the way it always opens my last email automatically and displays it at the bottom of the page, is there anything I can do about this,
I am worried incase it opens a bad email.
Thanks for any advice
Michelle

Try this..
Open Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options, Programs Tab, Reset Web Settings
then remove tick from reset homepage then Yes and OK0 -
Thanks Intel, I tried this and it changed my homepage from NTL to MSN and and links on the emails still wont work. Is there anything else to try.
Thanks

Hi Michelle. To stop your mails displaying a 'Preview Pane', go to 'View', on the top left of the Outlook Express window, then select 'Layout'. That will open a dialogue box, in the bottom half you will see 'Preview Pane', untick it then click on 'Apply' at the bottom right of the dialogue box.
You can choose any homepage you want - just go to the page you want, then at the top of the IE frame, select 'Tools', then 'Internet Options'. Under the 'General' tab, you will see the 'Home page' options - if you're on the page you want as Home page, click on 'Use current', then 'Apply' at the bottom of the box.I only exist in my own mind - if you can see, hear or read me, you are a product of my imagination.0 -
My Hotmail Spam Folder e mails won't click until I move it to 'not junk'.0

Hi Shellyd
I've not had this problem myself but here's a few comments from some who have ....

(if you can't click on this link just copy & paste it straight into your browser).

Thanks for the advice, I have tried all the options that applied to me (only hoping I did it right) and I still can't get the links to work, when I got this (Dell) AOL and other isp were already installed so I deleted them. I also have some sort of popup blocker ( thinK it could be with Mcafee). on reading the advice on the Link from PChelpman (this Link worked). I think these may be causing the problem, I will study the info in more detail and see if it comes up with anything else.
Thanks

I am No good at this type of thing and after trying your suggestions and a lot of reading and using outlook repair sites without sucess, I rang(out of desperation) NTL, They have told me to reinstall xp, or go to a PC shop and buy a disc to reinstall outlook express. Dose this advice sound right I don't think I want to reinstall XP as everything else is working OK, and although I can't remember how I did it I installed outlook express myself ( I must have done something wrong).
Do you think I need to reinstall these.
Thanks
