I was unfortunate enough to receive a PCN from the above company.
I ignored it, as advised on this site.
I received the initial £45 'fine', a later £95 fine because I had been a naughty boy and not paid promptly and finally a £135 'fine' because I had been a very naughty boy. All letters contained various bold type and multicoloured text(red was popular).
I then received a letter from Rossendales, a debt collection agency, with even more bold very red type. Ignored again.
Two, frankly patronising, phone calls from Rossendales in which they were ill mannered enough to address me by my christian name. The phone was simply put down.
Finally a letter from Rossendales informing me that they were going to send a door collector to my address to collect the money 'due', apparently they were 'NOT going to let the matter drop'.
One and a half months later I still await my visit. Surely they haven't let the matter drop.............
Draw your own conclusions folks!!!!!!

That's harrassment and should be reported. They're chasing a debt that simply doesn't exist because there's never been a court judgment in respect of it (and never will be either). Any money they claim you owe them is just pure fantasy - a figment of their imagination.0

I was under the impression they couldn't do that. Part of the scam is getting you to disclose your phone number so they can harass you.
Ask for advice over on the Consumer Action Group parking forum as there's a lot of specialised knowledge over there.0 -

To be honest I didn't realise there was a problem with someone looking up your number. I found it quite fun listening to the verbal technique employed by debt colectors, forceful, talking over you etc. A bit of an eye opener really.
I just hope my post will emcourage people to ignore this bunch of chancers0 -
Had 3 'demands' from UKPC, 2 very red ones from Rossendales and now, after hearing nothing for about 4 months, one from Credit Security Ltd(sadly all in black and white, so still got the red ones to look forward to).
Persistently unsuccessful blighters - this goes back about 9 months now!0 -
Hi
I am new to this forum and would like advise from my recent experience with UKPC.I was parked in a private car park of two adjoining companies. One is a timber merchant and the other was heating supplies. As i went with a friend I purchased goods from one company and my friend from the other. There was a sign saying anyone illegally parked will be clamped. This notice was from the heating company. However as i had purchased goods from them i did not think anything of it.Ten days later i received a pcn notice charge from UKPC staing i had illegally parked there (small picture of my car with registration)and to pay GBP75.00.I wrote to them stating i had purchased items from both companies(did not know which one the fine was from. They wrote back stating that the timber merchants had no parking facility and that i had to still pay.I went to see the owner of the heating supplies company and he told me that every customer they have they ask for their car registration number. My friend said they did not.As i had thrown my receipts(paid by cash)I told the owner he must have a copy of the hand written receipt and i would tell him how much the goods were on the specified date and also to look on their cctv camera of goods brought in their shop being loaded in my car.He said he will speak to UKPC and contact me on Tuesday. However the same day UKPC wrote a letter to me saying that they would be pursuing the claim and if i did not pay until 06 May,the fine will be GBP150.00.I feel very distressed and hope someone can advise me.How can i be charged when i have used their company and surely they should have receipts and cctv footage.UPKC have said they will not reply to any future correspondance.0 -
Do exactly the same yourself. It's not a fine, they can't enforce it, don't pay anything. Have a read around the threads on here and you'll soon realise it's a scam..UPKC have said they will not reply to any future correspondance.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0 -
Another update.
Subsequent to Rossendales I was contacted by Scotcall Debt Collecting Services. Sexy red letters X 3. Last letter stating 'debt' to be returned to UKPC recommending 'further action'.
3 weeks or so ago now. Awaiting further action.0 -
Received a UKPC Notification of Unauthorised Parking today on a small retail park. There was a Pay and Display meter that clearly said one hour free parking......so I parked, shopped in Aldi, paid for goods at 13.32 went straight to car, and a nasty black and yellow Parking Notice warning envelope was on my windscreen. Inside is a notification of unathorised parking, not displayed a PD ticket. The warden number section is not filled in, timed as 13.22. I went back into Aldi to speak to the cashier and she told me that you still have to print off a ticket......and told me it does say on the machine but on a blue strip under the larger one hour free parking line. I rang the number on the ticket straightaway but was told cannot discuss until I am in receipt of my FINE......................Now, I am worried about this, although reading through the many threads this is more then likely unenforceable.............so, shall I write one letter enclosing copy of my ALDI receipt and hope never to hear again......I am so angry because I am very cautious of parking and seeing the one hour free parking suited me, but why would I want to continue reading when I had read what I need to know.SallyD0
