New T-mobile flext, not all that good really
Options
Why?
1. There is always a one minute minimum call charge for all these types of calls and we may ask you to pay a deposit before you can make any international calls.
2. ...you may only use up to half of your inclusive allowance for any calls to 08 or 0500 numbers and only up to half for any international calls. We'll monitor your use each month and if you use more than that, we may restrict how you can use your plan, what you pay and/or move you to a more appropriate plan, depending on how often you go over your amount and by how much.
3. international calls to mobiles cost £1 a minute and calls to landlines cost 40p per minute
What was moneysupermarket.com thinking when it said "T-Mobile has made some really positive changes to its Flext tariff - the inclusion of 08 numbers and calls to international numbers will help consumers save money on those calls that typically cost extra and sit outside their monthly price plan." It's easy to overlook their use of the word "some". But how they concluded it would "help consumers save money on those calls" I am not sure.
Is there a whiz here who can do the maths and tell us? :money:

1. Is based on your credit score. If you have a low credit score, they will deem you high risk and demand a deposit. People with average scores or above will be fine.
2/3 - I think the charges are relatively steep but they are on all networks. If you imagine they are just letting you take it out your allowance now which is the only difference... so its a benefit over other networks. If you used your allowance just on these type of calls, it would go very quickly no doubt.
The majority of people just make 01/02/07 calls mainly and then make the odd 08, international call which stings them on the end of the month. If you can imagine now your allowance will absorb that extra hit so you should see a reduction in outside of allowance calls.
The 50% of your allowance rule is just a fair usuage rule, nobody in their right mind should be spending all that on those types of calls when there are more effective methods to make those calls i.e. skype. The network is just protecting themselves from customers selling their allowance on to other people using simboxes.0
