Can I patch unlock a SE W880i?

My friend has asked me to unlock a SE W880i phone for him which is currently locked to the 3 network.
I have previous experience of unlocking and debranding a W810i for my girlfriend which was CID49 using a patch unlock.
I've tried to check the CID version in the service menu of the W880i but it's not apparent what CID version it is, other than being DB2020, altough another website suggested that the f/w version is CID52.
Basically can this phone be unlocked with a patch or any other free method?
