Cheap MS Office for people who aren't at Uni or working for NHS

What's the best deal out there for MS Office 2007 - I have kids in full time education so can't access the deals at Ultimate Steal and don't work for the NHS!

And I know there are free alternatives out there - I'm specifically after MS Office.

If you use it at work speak to your IT people. They may have a license that lets you use it at home

If you have kids in full time education, why can't you use ultimate steal? Unless they aren't at university?

You can get the Home and Student edition of Office 2007 (which has Word, Exel, PowerPoint and the excellent, oft-overlooked OneNote) for around £60. This gives you a three-user licence (so you can install it on 3 machines) and *anyone* can get it, not just students or NHS employees.

According to Microsoft, Office 2007 Home and Student is "licensed only for noncommercial use by households. It cannot be used in commercial (business) situations."

Which I'm sure you'd all take notice of

I agree with jaffa. I have used them on two occasions and they are the real deal. Proper dvd's from microsoft with a full backup

As mentioned, you can get a copy of Home and Office for about £60.

I know you have said specifically that you want MS, but in my opinion, open office, which is free, is much better than MS office and is also fully compatible, you can open, work on and save files in the MS format, ie .doc (or docx), xls (or .xlsx) etc I use MS Office at work, save the files and work with Open office at home. Bar a few things, such as some macros , which don't always work, Oo will do everything, there is nothing that I cant do in Oo that I could in MS office

If you haven't tried Oo, I'd give it a go, then if you don't like it, or you cant do everything that you need to, buy a copy of MS office.
