02 price increase by stealth
Options
:mad:I would like to inform O2 customers of a price increase by stealth. A few years ago my husband and I signed up to a mobile phone deal whereby we each paid £100 or so upfront. By paying this amount up front we then were not charged a monthly tariff and also had 60 free mins. On our bills it was called 12 months net 50. Our latest bill seemed rather high and when I looked closer found that we had been put on a monthly tariff called Net 100 at a cost of £30.64 each. When I queried this with O2 I was told they had a new computer system which could not migrate my old contract! I said so it is a price increase by stealth but no answer was forthcoming! My old contract has now been reinstated but I wonder how many O2 customers have failed to notice this.
I would like to alert other O2 customers who took advantage of this deal. Unsurprisingly this deal was cancelled not long after it was first offered!

This isn't unusual - there are around 2,500 mobile tariffs available in the UK, but you cannot select to join 95% of them, because they're NOT available to new customers.
I've a great 3UK tariff called 'Three 2 Go', decent mobile rates and NO monthly charge. It'll remain free as long as I don't cancel - there are many similar arrangements with the other networks, so the fact your original tariff isn't still available is a fact of life - and not unusual either!0 -
That's not what the OP is moaning about........0

Glad someone had the brain to understand what I was trying to tell people!

I am on a similar tarriff, I have been on it for about 10 years maybe a bit longer it is called 'Mytime Net 200 Pay Up Front' I get 200 off peak minutes but only to o2 numbers and landlines. I have heard nothing from them and have checked my online bill which was dated 20th of April and it is nil as I have only used the free calls.0
