Go back to basics. Try the old ping and ipconfig/all, and turn off firewalls.
Did you enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP? What output does net view command give? Check the computer names and workgroup.0 -
I've done that and still I cannot see the files on the other pc. I have pinged and enabled netbios, I shall now throw these computers through the wondow!
So Plan B then.. how much do you reckon it would cost me to get a proffesional out?0 -
Are you sure that you have disabled the firewall? The correct way to do this with the XP firewall is, control panel, security center, windows firewall, make sure "don't allow exceptions is unticked", and file and printer sharing is ticked on the exceptions tab
If you haven't already tried it, try mapping a drive to \\192.168.2.1\c$ (or c)
