What veg can you grow in hanging baskets?

Hi all,

I have space for 8 hanging baskets and wanted to use them to increase my fruit and veg growing space.

Other than tomatoes and strawberries what does well in them?

TIA Ging x

What about pepper plants? They won't trail, but they'd be easy to access that way.

Peas would trail over the side, herbs, rainbow chard, lettuce, particularly open hearted, endive, strawberries.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I have 5 mixed lettuce in one of mine, think there may be too many in there as it is only a 10" basket but we'll see how it goes.

It's one way of keeping the slugs off them.

I've put some runner bean 'Hestia' in one of my baskets this year to see how they go. :)

I had a fantastic crop of strawberries from 2 hanging baskets with 3 plants in each, and best of all NO slug problems :D
