Depends of your contract. Orange do student contract where you can do that, you'd need to check with your network.

Yes - most networks will allow you to transfer your contract to a firend of family member (O2, however will not). They still have to be credit checked, but once they sign the contract, it's them that get billed, not you!

I think he means transfer to another type of contract, rather than to another person.
But that's an option, transfer the account to someone that can use it while you don't need it. As above they'll need to be able to pass the credit check...
  • It depends why you want to pause it to be honest, i know if you're in the armed forces then you can usually pause it...if you're honest to them over the phone they may be able to help you out, tbh.

I know Orange allow to temporarily 'suspend' contract for any length of time w/o any penalty. I myself did this on my contract with them.

This was a few years (~5) back - not sure if anything has changed since then.
