You quoted me instead of just putting your opinion forward and you stated that you felt his request was based more on the cost of things. I read it differently to you because he also stated the severity of her condition in his post.
Good luck when you go into hospital next week, hope they sort it all out

Help with dressing/undressing, bathing, applying lotions day and night.
When someone has a massive flare up there skin can crack and bleed and be at risk of serious infection.
Thank you for asking

i suffer with contact eczema and im very lucky as i can manage mine, but you can need a lot of help with it, when i had it at my worse i could hardly use my hands at all, my hubby had to help apply creams and the haelan tape that held me together, as well as do my buttons and shoe laces even wash my hair, as my skin would split and id bleed over everything, you cant cook or prepare food and work can be impossible i was given PUVA light treatment 3 times a week for 6 weeks, a 3hr round trip to the local hospital, PUVA is a on going treatment for a lot of people,
depending on how bad the eczema is the care of a adult can be the same as a child, if you suffer on your back you would need someone to apply your creams,or on the sole's of your feet, mobility is impaired,so DLA should pay out for those that suffer badly, The steroid treatment that most are on causes just as much long term damage to the skin as the eczema itself (thinning of the skin) i feel very lucky that mine is managed, as it can be hell to live with at its worse0 -

Hi Tori k
just to let you know you should be able to get one of these(or similar) from your occupational therapist.
