I visited this company in person last Friday, as they're based literally 5 minutes away from where I live. I called to make an appointment, spoke to a lovely guy on the phone who gave me exact directions, so off I went. The business premises are modern and clean, the staff are all very friendly and the money was in my bank account before I even got home. Excellent service from start to finish and it got me out of a hole to say the least! Wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

    Why didn't they pay cash?

Jackjo that is a very bad attempt at spamming the gold shop you obviously work for.

I work from home organising events for the construction industry. I collected together all my broken chains and bendy old rings I'd accumulated over the last 20 years and took them up. They were paying a good price for the gold, less the stones in the rings and the steel springs in the necklace fasteners.

I would actually love to work for them, to be honest, haven't been to such a friendly place in a long time and being only 5 mins from home would be ideal!

They don't pay cash upfront, because they don't keep cash on the premises, it's not a shop, it's an office block on an industrial park. You can either have the money paid directly into your bank or they will give you a cheque. The money was in my account by the time I got home, and as I said before, I only live 5 minutes away.

How can the money be in your account before you got home? It's not possible for money to appear in your account that quick from a external transfer.

The only way a deposit can show up that quick is if a person has 2 accounts at the same bank, say a savings & current account & makes a transfer of funds between accounts.

Other than that the quickest the money would show in your account would be the next day as the deposit would have to be cleared first. Unless they had gone to your bank personally & have paid in cash over the counter of course.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

My Dad put money in to both my accounts - 2 different banks and both showed up as soon as he put it in!

Scrap gold seems to be selling well on ebay. Does anyone know how the prices compare?

I bank with the same bank as them (HSBC) so it went in straightaway. I regularly transfer money from my First Direct Account to my moms FD account and that's instant as well.

Why sell gold at this time? I know things are getting tight for people but Gold is one of the safest investment at the moment. These companies are buying up so much for a reason.

I have accumulated so many cheap chains which have broken over the last 20 years, it would have cost more to repair them than they were worth, so I chopped them in? What's wrong with that? Instant cash, straight in your bank for stuff that's lying in your drawers that the kids aint gonna thank you for if you leave it to them when you die.

If I had some bullion stashed in my shed, I may have held onto it.

It can be that quick now the banking system has changed, last month i transfered some money from my HSBC account to my Halifax account and it transfered instantly.
