    What about this:

    Monitor:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/145472
    Samsung SM2243BW 22" TFT Monitor 1680x1050
    £141.56

    £420ish Left over...

I would recommend this one, pretty much the best 22" on the market and, well, we need to burn some cash.

    Absolutely can't pocket anything - not even 1p ;)
Have to have receipts etc etc for everything - I am just grateful for being able to have the stuff to be honest - I've never been given anything in my life before.

am i right in thinking its a grant or something charitable?

any ways none of my business but whatever it is, i thought it might be more beneficial if you ask them to buy more medium range computers instead of 2 cash burning ones that you simply dont need.

    F**k it, let's go for a 24"! I've updated my list ;)
  • WOW! What a lot of help - many, many thanks. This has helped so much - as I am clueless with IT stuff (this PC was given to me as it was going to be thrown away and luckily a friend knew what he was doing and got it up and running).

totalsolutions, not a charity - honest! I assure you I am a hard working person who is very grateful indeed to be receiving some resources that will be used by tons of children.xx.

Is it possible to include a proper service contract in the budget?

If you have lots of kids using them at some point something is bound to go wrong and need fixing.

Would be a shame to blow all the money on gear only to find that after a short while some of it is damaged or not working
  • Yes, that is something to think about - will look into it.

well if its going to be used for a long time i would say keep extras to a minimum. less to go wrong right?

why not go to a local computer shop and get them to build you a desktop to your needs without all the stuff that could cause problems.

then like suggested go for a mac book pro or something for the laptop?

Bit confused - if tons of childrens are going to be using them, couldn't you get
    tons of computers?

Could get a good 3 of 4 laptops for that budget, on top of the desktop and other stuff...
