HI guys, i would love some advice about blogging and earning etc - i have a blog which has had over 5000 hits now which i was amazed at tbh and i have just added adsense to it and have earned almost £10 so far :)

The thing i am trying to work on at the minute is actually getting followers as i only have about 4 :o I recently added the subscribe via email box and have 5 email followers now but not quite sure how to get people to actually subscribe - i know nothing about web marketing and promotion but i am slowly trying to do some via twitter and facebook - think people are getting fed up of hearing about it though lol!!

I have been reading about squeeze pages and list building but i am a bit lost - has anyone on here used a squeeze page? Also i am thinking about writing an ebook as a give away for the squeeze page - any advice on this as well?

    Thanks :D

I would avoid using a squeeze page (ie no exit links).

    1. They are frustrating for the user, who wants good navigation on every page.

    2. Google's recent updates (Panda and Farmer) have been targeted at low quality and spam/borderline spam pages and many squeeze pages are being downgraded or even excluded from search results because of this.

Thanks Sixer :) I must be getting the name mixed up, when i said squeeze page i thought that was the name of the pages you can have to add your email for a free gift like an ebook - i assume from your description that not a squeeze page lol

Well, it is the name of such pages. But mostly, they have no exit links and little info beyond the sign up. Users don't like them, nor does Google.

You can add more content to the page, and then technically they are squeeze pages but um... they aren't really!

Remember guys to tag your tweets. Like if your blog post is about apples, you could tag the tweet, #Apples #GrannySmith.

People searching for those terms on twitter, may stumble up on your tweet.

    No problem!

If you are stuck on niches to write for, then watching the shopping channels on your tv will give you amazing ideas. If you dont have sky or freeview, you can watch LIVE FREEVIEW tv here: http://www.tvcatchup.com - there fore you can watch the shopping channels.

Once you have an idea of what to write about, you can see if alot of people are searching for it here: adwords.google.co.uk/select/KeywordToolExternal - type in the keyword (niche) and select EXACT from the left hand side and you will see the search numbers :)

I'm giving away all my secrets :)

can anyone suggest anything. I have probably asked before but havent yet made any money.

I have a forum that is hosted on a free forum so i dont make any money from the adverts or anything. I cant move it either to my own hosting. Is there anywhere i could write about it and make some money for myself or could i write for anyone else.
