Your have just reduced your technical support credibility to zero with a comment like that! How can any specific channel be recommended without actually knowing which channels are in use locally?

The OP and the second poster need to establish if their exchange has Sky LLU presence, as this makes a big difference. Check here for Sky LLU.

A bit harsh espresso. I see no problem in that advice as most if not all routers when supplied are not set to either 1 or 11 and most people are not techie so unlikely to have changed channel. Therefore there is a very good chance that a neighbour would not be on either of those channels.
That advice can also regularly be found in BT newsgroups given by quite technical people too.
It doesn't look good taking digs at people from these companies when they bother to offer some help on here even though I've respected your posts on here for a long time now.
    Don't muck up your reputation.

Just to add, Sky does have LLU presence in my area.

Sorry but that is simply not true! The common default wireless channels are 1, 6 & 11, so it is very likely that these will be in use locally.

I have had 3 routers from sky and ALL were set to channel 11. Also doing a "Survey scan" of my area from outside in my garden shows that 5 out of 7 people on SKY are using channel 11 the other 2 are using 2 and 4 (I am on 1)
