Hello!
Sorry to post another 'oh no how do I get out of my contract' but I just wanted a bit of advice!
I signed up with Orange as I was spending a heck of a lot on pay as you go and with the contract I'm on, I get unlimited texts and 200 minutes for £20 (although it has been slightly reduced with the whole VAT thing). The amount is not an issue.
My main issue is that I have the worst service and by this I mean that my phone is constantly on emergency calls only, even when others on a different network have full signal. Even just sitting in my house I have to turn my phone on and off just to get a signal long enough to send a text, which was not a problem while I was on 02.
I have contacted Orange about this and they originally said to get my phone checked even after I'd advised her that I'd tried it on different phones - anyway as I thought, it was nothing to do with the phone and I have now had 4 phones (all different brands, they were not replacements either) and I also lost my sim card and now have another with the same result. I just feel that regardless of it only being £20 a month, what's the point when no one can get through to me and my phone calls get cut off etc.
The next groan (well done if you're still reading) is that after checking my bills which are only itemised online, I found that I have been getting charged for 5 picture messages each month as a bundle which I did not request. When I had to register my 2nd simcard the advisor said he was adding it on, and I actually said I didn't want it as I don't use them to which he replied 'yeah it's a promotion, you may as well' with no mention of a charge. I have asked them to cancel this already, but I just got another bill through and again have been charged for them!
I just wondered if anyone who has dealt with Orange before as a company or is familiar with the contract terms could offer advice or if they thought I'd be in with a chance of cancelling? I have looked at my contract and the only part that I can think of using is the 'you can cancel if we are unable to continue providing a service' as they clearly aren't providing a service!
I got the contract around the 25th August 2008 and it was for 18 months so still have until February to go. I use it for work as well so really need a signal!
Thank you in advance for any suggestions or help, all is welcome even if it doesn't work! Feel free to leave your moans as well as I'm always interested in hearing about other dealings with orange!!
