I recently left Orange as I was fed up with the way I was treated.
I have asked them to close my email account as it is no longer required and received the following response:
"Now that your Broadband account is closed, it has automatically been converted into a Dial Up Pay As You Go account.
Standard Dial-up Pay As You Go accounts cannot be cancelled, but if you leave them for 219 days without dialling in, they automatically suspend and will be deleted from the system after 260 days due to inactivity."
Any ideas what I can do to get it closed as I don't want it and do not see why I have to wait 260 days for them to take action. Is there any organisation I can go to to force them do do as I wish?
Cheers

Its probably standard policy, Probably best to leave it, Pay as you go means you aint being charged.0

Its like a mobile phone, when you cancel the contract it normally goes PAYG.
And no, You cant force them to do as you wish.0 -
Keep an eye on the account the money was coming from and dont be suprised to discover that they're still taking the money.
Have a look at the 'I'm going to sue Orange' thread in this forum.
In the meantime write back to them and tell them that the account has been closed and dont want them to provide any service whatsoever. Dont bother phoning, you'd be wasting your time and letters mean evidence, which due to there incredible incompetance you'll probably be glad of.0
