Why report them to ebay? they are clearly mistakes, they obviously won't sell and it would be far more helpfull to just point it out to the seller.

I emailed them and pointed it out - reporting them and getting the auction closed isn't much help to anyone :)

I tried reporting something to eBay the other day for excessive postage - 99p listing and £25 to post something that would cost about £3. Reporting now seems to be via dropdown menu and although there was a fee-avoidance tab, nothing about excessive postage.

I'm not a do-gooder and accept that postage will always be more than actual cost, but I can't stand it when people take the p***

What i've never understood about people who complain about postage is why they get their knickers in such a twist. After all, the postage is clearly displayed, it's not added on after sale, so if you don't think it's worth the total price with the postage DONT BUY!! Simples!!

Perhaps that's why there is not tab on the complaint screen, because ebay don't want to be pestered about it, just don't bid.

I was once selling a highish value item as a business, it would cost me £9 to send, plus £1 packaging, and total fees including listing fees, final value fee and paypal fee totalled £11.95.

So in total the cost of me, listing, selling and supplying this item was £21.95, so i set the postage slightly lower at £19.95 and it annoyed me that i constantly was getting asked, why so high postage? yet if they did a simple mathamatic equasion, they could have worked out that the final sale price, plust the postage meant on average they would pay £80 inc delivery for an item they could not buy in the shops for less than £160, so really what justification did i need to give, in the end i stopped replying to these people, even blocking them from bidding in some cases as if they were complaining before they even placed a bid, chances are they'd be a pain in the backside if they bought it.

The worst ones of all though were the ones who bought the item, paid for it, no complaints , then after receiving it started demanding a refund of the postage as it was excessive. Idiots.

The fact is that many sellers who sell higher value items put the postage costs up to account for the fees they have to pay, because you do not pay ebay fees on the postage, whereas if you add the cost of fees to the sale price you are in effect paying fees on fees.

so why not stop looking to get peoples listings removed and just accept that they are stating the cost clearly and if you don't like it don't bid on it.

i mean, if for example you were looking to buy a car, and let's say the average price for the car you wanted was £5,000, you go to a few garages to look at a few examples, all about the same price but different colours, trim etc, then you spot one on another dealers forecourt, it's nice but it's up at £7,000 would you be running round like a headless chicken looking for someone to report the dealer to? or would you just tell him "on yer bike" and go elsewhere?

People are entitled to ask whatever they like for the gods they sell, us as consumers just need to work out if it's a good TOTAL price or not, if it is, buy it, if it's not, WALK AWAY!!
