Urgent virus help needed

Hi,
I had the same problem.
Followed the same sort of advise as above.
Except, I rebooted in safe mode, restored to a previous System Restore point which prevented the virus, Privacy centre from loading and hogging resources.
Which could account for the long run of the AV.

I understand that worked for you Jo. But in 'some' cases thats a VERY bad idea as the restore points can also infected:idea:0 -

I suppose it might be, but I do my own restore points after running scanners etc..
Thus I thought I wa safe as it was the last point I knew for sure was bug-free.

Its a fair point. To be honest im unsure if viruses/trojans can infect older restore points (Id guess SOME do mind):idea:0
