    Hello

    Take a look at http://www.chycor.co.uk/stives.htm
They have loads of properties available directly from the owners.

Take a look at proprties in Lelant - just a short train ride from St. Ives and nice and central for most Cownwall Attractions!

Let us know how you get on hunting!

    Have you tried www.cottageguide.co.uk
Also, check out the late availability sites - we've used
www.lastminute-cottages.co.uk before - booking direct with the owners also gives you the chance to do a bit of haggling! It will definitely be cheaper if you go with independents rather than through a letting agent - £1,000 sounds a lot!
If you're concerned about what you're booking there are two sites I use to check out self-catering cottage reviews www.mycottageholiday.co.uk and www.therealvisitorsbook.co.uk as well as www.tripadvisor.co.uk

another example of a thread started by someone who doesnt want to do the research, have everyone run round, and can't be bothered to respond back.

As has been said above, Hayle and Carbis Bay are both great options and within easy striking distance of St.Ives. If my memory serves me right, the park and ride goes from Carbis Bay (I'm not 100% on that so do please check ) so that's worth checking out, and your teenagers will love the laid back, arty atmosphere down there so no worries on that score. They may pull at the leash at first because "it's not abroad", but once that they suss that the area, particularly Newquay, is full of Aussies, Kiwis and South African surfers, they will relax and give you kudos.
As we are predicted / promised a wonderful summer this year, I do believe you have chosen well.
