Holiday cottage in St Ives - can someone help?

Hi all, I feel as a family we really need to get away, it's been a tough year! We thought about going to St Ives for a week, me DH, DD1 and DD2 (both teenagers).=, I have looked all over the internet and the cottages are so expensive approx £1000 for a week  does anyone know if there is a cheap site a can look at?

Have you thought about camping, or renting a caravan? Holiday cottages are expensive, and St Ives is probably one of the nicer and more expensive locations. There are chalets at Henga Manor, try googling them.

We have thought of camping but we don't really have the equipment, perhaps we should try a cheaper place.

Try "Hayle"..... it's just across the bay from St Ives... beautiful beach (better than St Ives) and infinitely cheaper.

:pThanks for the idea, going to have a look now! I felt really depressed as I did not think we would be able to find something reasonable - but I think there is hope if we just move out a bit and don't stay directly in St Ives.

Carbis Bay is another one worth trying - we've stayed there in the past and as long as you are fit enough to walk down a steep path to that beach its fantastic - you can also get the train into St Ives itself although the service isn't that frequent. (I'm suggesting the train as parking in St Ives can be a nightmare - its literally one stop down the line)

Thanks, I've looked at Hayle and it looks nice and is almost £300 cheaper per week than St Ives! I will have a good look tonight, if anyone knows any good web sites, please post them for me - thank you xx

These tents are all ready for you to move in to. You just need towels and sleeping bags. They are half the price of most caravans even in the summer months. http://www.stivesbay.co.uk/static-tents.htm

Try Toms Holidays in Hayle, they have chalets on the cliff top overlooking the fab beach and aren't badly priced (depending on what you go for!) I class Hayle as my second home as I have holidayed there almost every year since I was born! so I know it inside out
