Hi
Am in desperate need of some help!
Recently ordered a bunk bed with futon from the internet (ordered 8/3 finally recieved 16/4) when it arrived we assembled it. We had a job doing it as a few of the screw holes werent lining up , the frame was really scratched and on the first night my little one was climbing up into the new bed the step on the ladder broke (poor welding) and when we opened the futon mattress i could not believe how tatty & grubby it looked (full of marks). At this point im a livid as you can imagine !! anyway the following day i emailed the company to express how disatified i was and requested they send a new ladder with steps and also a new futon mattress. within 1 wk of that i recieved the ladder with steps and a futon mattress which turned out to be the wrong size! i opened it and and again what a bloody state. I was bouncing by this time , so took photographs attatched and emailed them again demanding they arrange collection of all the items and refund me the full amount stating as above. I then recieve an email back saying that i cannot refuse the items based on the quality , they will replace the futon AGAIN! if i require my monies back i will need to return them at my own expense and all have to be in original packaging and in saleable condition (when actually they were not in saleable condition when i recieved them , hence all of this). I emailed them back to state that i was not happy with that threw at them the 'sales of goods act' and at present am waiting for a response. have threatned to take them to small claims court! in the meantime i have examined the bed again and have found another area on the frame where the welding has broken.
Am I in the right to demand all my monies back ???? or am i gonna look like a fool at the end of all this . When u pay nearlly £400 for something u would expect it to be of a higher standard, dont u think???
Any advice will be gratefully recieved.
Thanks Guy!!!!

You can reject them as being of unsatisfactory quality under the Sale of goods Act, and they should pay for postage/collection.

Be firm with them, and if you want help writing to them call your local trading standards dept at the county council. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I agree with skintchick, but another question is, does the mattress have a British standard on it?
If not then also inform trading standards about that.
It would also be a good idea to name and shame them to stop anyone else making the same mistake.0 -
Thanks 4 that Guys!! since i posted my details , i have emailed the company again to let them know of the more recent fault that i have become aware of, they have emailed me, saying why havn i reported this fault in previous communication!! to which i replied that i have only now become aware due to examing the items more because of the recent problems, to date - no response. i gave them 7 days to reply from my first email and still nothing, What do u think i should do now ??? i did threaten with small claims court , do i start looking into it or do u think its worth emailing again!! My only worry being that the longer i leave the items with me the less chance i have of gettin my money back .
Tim , you said bout the mattress having a british standard on it, how could i find that out , would there be something on the mattress, if so , where do i look. sorry to seem so blonde !!!
Thanks !!0 -

Thanks !!
There should be a label sewn into the seam. This would usually be on one end of the mattress. If it doesn't have one then they shouldn't be selling them in this country.
Who was the seller?0 -
I think you should write a proper letter rather than send an email as it looks more official.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Company was 'Kiddies Kingdom'.
Yes I would. If it doesn't come up to flame retardancy standards then it could be dangerous.
Do you have their web site address, because I can only find a childrens play place?0 -

That isn't a company. It's a web page with links to other web sites. What does it say on your invoice?0 -
