Wish i could do this but i dont even get that far, when he laptop is turned on you get a message up the top windows error recovery and options that page doesnt stay long then it goes to another page saying please wait finishing the installation may take several minutes, please do not inturrup or shut down well i have left the laptop on for 2 days and the same message please stays there, i cant win with either toshiba or the dixons technical line they have said theres nothing they can do what else can i do ? I will be ringing up dixons tomorrow to the complaints dept if i still dont get no where i will have to take this laptop into a pc repairs tomorrow i shouldnt have to but i need the laptop fixed asap as its my 12 year old daughters laptop, if anyone has some answers what to do next please come back to me Thanks
That is what happened to mine. It goes into a continuous loop and you cannot read what is on the screen as its too quick. It does need to be reset with a recovery disc or recovery partition. Its the only option.
Dixons should have returned the computer back to you in perfect working order. If they have changed the hard drive they should have checked whether the recovery was on disc, a question they should have asked you. You'd only had the computer a few weeks. Personally I would argue they were neglagent in replacing the hard drive before checking for a recovery section. They only need to look up the computer make and number. They have returned the computer to you that is not working. I believe they have created this problem and should correct it for you.
Did you computer come with an instruction manual? The reason I ask 'its the only you would know the recovery partition existed'. It would tell you how to back up onto disc (up to 10 discs for mine) and once you had done this it would no longer be available on the laptop. It is an option not a necessity to do this.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........
