we have this problem and i can say now that all the "bollocking" and hand smacking as 2 posters put it has done zilch! I think the table idea is the best idea and would not recommend getting a clip to put over the button as if u have an accident it will take longer to get him out which is potentially very dangerous (what Britax told me when i asked them if they sold anything)0

Could you try turning the buckle so the red button is on the inside against him - might be a bit more of a challenge.
I can imagine Britax have to take a regularatory viewpoint, but personally I reckon you are more likely to have an accident, than to have an accident where an extra 20 seconds getting the child out makes a difference ?
As a related aside, my first child would undo the main seatbelt that was securing the car seat in place so I fixed a cable tie through the buckle and round the socket and that soon stopped any fun in getting the belt out.0 -
handcuffs? You got to get through what you've got to go through to get what you want but you got to know what you want to get through what you got to go through.0

My mates little one did this and managed to fall out of the car whilst turning a corner, luckily my mate was going under 5mph in Morrison's car park, and he was a chubby kid so well cushioned, and no harm done. But scared the mother silly.0

I've always had car door child locks on to stop the kids going anywhere until I am ready.
If anyone isn't aware, on I think every car, there is a hidden catch or mechanism on the rear doors that can be activated to stop the interior door handle from opening the door.0
