What would you buy with £5000 cash towards new car plus £2000 scrappage grant

Best cars I found, apart from the Kia, was the Hyundai i10, and the Fiat Panda for around £5000. (Didn't like the Kia though)
C1 was £5795 with the scrappage.
Went to look at the Fiat Panda today cos we really liked the photos on the website. Unfortunately it is like those holiday brochures that make out you are going to Paradise and that your pool is massive. My husband and I both took an instant dislike to it, thought it was a really strange shape - so that is a no no.
The Hyundai i10 has been recommended by a few people so will go and see it.
The more I look the more confused I get.
My single friend has just bought a Fiat 500, I was looking at them in the Showroom today and they are gorgeous. If I was young and single I would love this car.Money SPENDING Expert0 -
You've had a good japanese car for many years and you want to change it for a Fiat......... and that is a good idea because?
Go for the Hyundai if those are your choices.

Maybe my thread should have read "new japanese car"
Noticed Toyota do a small car called an Aygo for £7380.
Whatever we do it must be a 5 door as I have 3 kids.Money SPENDING Expert0 -
Aygo only has two seats, and belts in the back.
The only cars I've shortlisted as they cab seat five, are the Panda, with the optional third belt, the i10, and the Kia Rio, but it's an old design so it's out of my list.0 -
Mentioned it before on another thread but this "little beauty" is only £4700 before scrappage - chances are though that they wont participate in it;

aygo 107 and c1 are made in the same factory as they are the same car0

Since losing a friend in a Panda, I am wary of even travelling in one. Someone collided into the side of his Panda at 50-60mph. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Fiat looked like a ball of crumpled tin foil. The other driver walked away virtually unscathed.0

the aygo was the first of this breed of cars. then the peugeot and the citroen followed on.
the three of them are made in the same czech factory, basically they are all the same, its just the deal that will differ....work permit granted!0 -
Look at the Daihatsu Sirion 1.0 litre s. its got 5 doors, same parts as a toyota (Toyota own Daihatsu) so reliability will be bullet proof, £35 a year car tax and plenty of head and leg room, air con as standard and comes with a 5 year manufacturers warranty.
Cracking car!!0
