what do you mean nothing happened? if it doesnt ask for unlock code then it is unlocked.

Thanks for your reply drahcir. Yes, Virgin SIM card was borrowed from another working phone.
When inserted into my 3120 the phone starts up OK, displays the Nokia 'splash' screen, but after 3 or more minutes there was no indication of network or signal strength.
Put the Virgin SIM card back into its original phone and it works straight away.

it is unlocked then
have you checked that network selection is set to auto?
some phones have problems with older sims?
