Welcome LittleAngels3 nice to have you along. Keep us updated with how much you are managing to save - we all find it encouraging to know others are doing well, it spurs us all on! As I said above, when you have a good amount and want to bank it I will put the amount next to your name on the first post, that way you can keep track of how you are doing.

Well done Lesley, I will have to go and buy something so I can put the change in my pot and start competing with you properly!

    Hi everyone,

Hope this finds you all well and happy. I hope your saving is going well. I've been kept off the boards by real life for a while but was diligently putting money in the pot all the while :A

I'm really going to have to lodge it in the bank soon but just haven't had the chance. Since I was last here I've added about €20. I added it up and I've got €58 in total - woohoo!:j I even have the little plastic coin bags so I will try to get it in by the end of the week.

Hope you're all having a great Monday!
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

    Hey can I join in?

Last week I discovered my old penny tin in my wardrobe and to my delight there was £11 in coppers!! Woop! Annoyingly my bank only accepts 5 bags at a time, so will have to make a few trips.

Anyway, now the tin is moreorless empty I have vowed to put in all coins under £1 and see where I'm at in a month's time. I doubt it'll be anywhere near £50 though :D

    Happy Savings Peeps! :T

Well done Nuala for your saving - let us know when you bank the money and how much and I will put it on the first post! How exciting!

Welcome Kate - nice to have you joining in with us. I will put £11 next to your name so you can keep score easily! Let us know how you get on. I find it encouraging the more people post so feel free to post as much as you like.

Ive not put anything in today, although I've just saved myself £10 by doing my shopping online with Mr T and using the voucher code that Martin mentioned in his email. I think I will put £10 in my pot and then I will beat Lesley...no that's cheating! I will pay that £10 straight to my CC tho via online banking. I must get some cash in that pot soon tho!

Last night whilst clearing out another cupboard, I found a second Pot of Gold (well, copper actually). I'd obviously tried saving my pennies some time before and stashed it in a "safe place". It had the princely sum of £8 in it!! :j

I do however find it shameful that I could have this amount of money just lying around my house and not even know it was there!! :o Maybe that's why I have debt issues, money just seeps out of me like a leaky bucket!

Anyway, so £8 to add to the bank and the remaining coins to go in my big tin, which will be counted up on 1st June.

This is so much fun, thanks for having me! :D

LOL I shouldn't worry Leslie, who knows how many years worth of change lurked in those pots! :rotfl:Now that I'm starting from scratch it won't be quite so easy! :D

Well done Kate on finding the money. Let me know when you bank it and i will put it on the first page.

I agree Lesley, we need to work harder! I still haven't been out anywhere to spend any money! I will be out tomorrow tho so perhaps I will have some change after that!

My mum told me a shocking story last week. Her friend told her of a mutual acquaintance who had lots of loose change saved up but got fed up with it cluttering up her house and threw it all away in the bin! Can you believe it! She is obviously well off and didn't care. There were pounds and pounds worth! My mum, her friend and me were all fuming. What a waste. Mum's friend said why didn't you give it to charity if you didn't want it and the woman said oh I couldn't be bothered, I just wanted to get rid of it!

Perhaps we should send a loose change lynch mob to her house and demand she give us her change from now on!
