This challenge used to run every week (thanks to Moozie and PAP) but I have not seen it in a while so I hope no one minds but I need this to keep me on track ...

Hello everyone a010.gif. Welcome to the weekly spend challenege. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever. clapping.gif

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x

Good luck everyone.:T

I ended up spending about £30 last week I think sort of lost track towards the end of the week, I think it was payday on Friday that sent me spinning out of control.

Anyway I will try again for £20 this week and see how it goes. I need to get back in the habit of not taking my main bankcard with me only the one that has my weekly budget.

Good luck all and well done those that are green

  • Hi all

A very large red £50 something for me, which in a budget of £60 would have been great. but in a budget of £15.....

Although it did include bunny's injections (£26)- not incidental spends but also not budgeted.

NSD for me today thanks to a 12 hour shift at work.

Anyway i think i shall try for £20 this week.

Thanks pp and everyone for your support through a bit of a rough week.

    'See' you in the week.

    Hi All!

Can I increase my budget for this week to £40 please? Forgot I'd agreed to take DB bike riding on Saturday so need to include bike hire of about £20. Thank goodness its payday this week :D

    Morning all

I have updated the first post, let me know if I have missed anything.

I am entering intense studying mode this week which is going to involve me spending most of my time out of the house (between work and library) than at home. Three weeks of torture then I am free for summer.:j Going to try and keep the spending under control as chocolate etc. seem to become essential purchases.

Good luck with your studies PointyP. Appreciate you taking time out to keep this thread going :).

I lost track of my spending last week :o. Not sure how much i went over budget, but i'm realising my spending on unnecessary things is seriously out of control :o.

I'll try again this week. My budget is £10.

Hope your all having a good Sunday

  • PP i thnk you can justify a couple of choc bars (per week, not day) as essential study aids!!

Good luck with the budget and the studying.
