Gold fish-not COLD fish0
-
we bought a few fish from them and they infected all our other fish which resulted in half the tank dying. My OH went up and complained and got an exchange reciept, although we haven't actually went to get the fish cos he told them he'd rather try and sort the fish tank and get it back to normal before putting any other fish in, that was like 5 months ago now........ wonder if we will still be entitled to our fish!!! totally forgot all about it. (bit fed up of my fish tank, too much algae and can't seem to control it)
Get yourself a plec. (eats green algae) or a flying fox (eats black algae) if as I'm presuming you keep tropical fish and not cold water fish.:beer:0 -
Plecs are not necessarily the best option.
The best algae eaters grow too big for the average tank. Even if you had a huge tank suitable for them you will find that they neglect the algae in favour of the fish food you put in for the other fish.
There are many types of algae & lack of CO2 is the usual cause.
Try reading up on a specialist fish keeping forum first.
I reccomend Practical Fish Keeping or The tropical Tank as a start.0
