Can't afford the rent

It's up in the air at the moment, he is due to have a MRCP scan 13 may so depending what that shows up. We have £0 savings, didn't know about the council tax. We are paid up with all this months bills so that is something I suppose. I am planning for next month and can only see us getting further into debt. We are contracted to mobiles/phone/internet unfortunately. We don't smoke, drink or socialise.0

Rent is more important than bills.
Try speaking to your landlord - they might agree to you paying it a week or so late if they understand the circs. That might give you enough time to borrow from family or get paid.
Call your mobile etc people and explain the difficulty and ask for a payment-holiday/reduced payment. They might agree. Even if they don't agree you MUST pay the rent before considering any bills. Keeping a roof over your head is more important than a few bad marks on your credit file.0 -
Paying the rent is definitely number one on list as we love our home. We will just have to muddle through with credit card cash and fingers crossed won't be for too long. Just aslong as my partner gets fit and healthy again.0

No! Don't muddle through! Get help! Please! that is WHY CCCS and the CAB are there for you. Even if you only need help for a few months, that's OK, they will guide you. Who knows how long it could be until your OH is back to work? Don't put your financial health under stress as well as it could cause more worry for your OH.Kavanne

I have completed the questions on cccs but online help is mon-fri. I think best bet is face to face at cab. Will it matter that its all in my parthers name and he won't be there with me?0

Your input is much appreciated
thanks

CAB won't be open til Mon either so it doesn't matter whether you go to CAB or call CCCS on Mon. Maybe calling CCCS might be more help as your OH can talk to them too and you will have all bills/statements there to hand if they need the info. But you can do either, of courseKavanne

Take as much info about all your outgoings as you can. Also pop over to the Debt Free Wannabe board on here and post your Statement of Affairs (SOA): http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.htmlKavanne
