Like the others have said all you need to do is wait a few days and the signature will show up.
However for paypal purposes you don't even need the signature as for items under £150 proof of delivery to the address is sufficient for any sort of chargeback. Obviously for an item worth more than £150 recorded wouldn't be used anyway, so it is immaterial whether the sig ever shows or not.
Also worth rememebring that paypal only deal with online proof, so getting a print out of the sig would not be a requirement and would not even be accepted.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I have to agree with everyone else, the £2.20 is only for a "certificate" which I assume they print off and send in the post, so it's just an admin fee to cover that I guess.0

You cannot. The item is showing up has been delivered but no signature available unless you request one for a charge http://postcode.royalmail.com/portal/rm/jump2?catId=400145&mediaId=22100380
I posted 10 " signed for " letters a few days ago, all are showing as delivered, one said " signature not available" but the others I was able to click on link that showed signature, no charge.
I had read through the site and noticed it said this service was not free from 2006 but it appears it is.TOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T0 -
i concur that to view the signatuire on line is free of charge however as has been stated you have to wait a number of days after to view it0

i concur also, so for what reason do you need them to send you a print out?0

The problem that I had was the person that I sent the recorded mail to denied receiving the mail. I paid for a recorded signed mail service so I expected an online tracking of the service.
It's now been seven days since the mail was delivered and it's still showing no signature available.
Royal Mail Customer Service are now investigating my problem.0 -
Sounds to me like the postie signed for/nicked it and they won't scan it in coz that would prove it!
Probably 50% of the stuff I send "signed for" doesn't ever register as delivered according to the RM systems but I know it has! System is too lax and open to abuse. I only use it for low value stuff of a couple of quid value or less, everything else goes either Special Delivery - which is a tracked service, or by DHL.0 -
I certainly would recommend to never use royal mail if you can help it, wasn't so bad for me until these last few months.
I have been sending goods recorded delivery and they have not been getting to their destination, its so easy for them to make parcels *disappear* and its cost me in the region of £300 in the last month! and the worst part is that i cannot claim back compensiation because i cannot prove the value of the goods!0 -
i never use RM Signed for after I sent some important documents incoluding marriage certificate and passport to a colleague for verification purposes
the posty shoved it through the letter box while she was out and signed for it himself !!
RM couldn't understand why I was so angry!
if it is important or valuable now, I bite the bullet very grudgingly and pay the extra for special delivery which is the ONLY service RM GUARANTEE will arrive at the correct destination and will be signed for
on the occasion my items were sent signed for, i too had to pay £2.20 to get a copy of the signature - I then posted a COPY of the RM copy signature to RM customer services with a copy of my friends signature and they launched in investigation and following that they refunded me by cheque for the signed for delivery AND the £2.20 charge
it is worth persevering0
