A quick poll to gauge the mood.
If there was a General election this week, who would you like to see win? There are just two choices because no other party will win. If you don't know or don't care or could only want a minor party to win, please don't vote.
Before voting, remember you would have to live with the new Government for at least 4 years.

My guess is this board is a lot more Tory than the population at large.
I wonder if either party's head office will try to influence this? Presumably both parties take a look at the forums now and again as this is a pretty big website.0 -
Conservatives, i am genuinely scared what state the country will be in if Labour get another 5 years. I don't expect David Cameron to have all the answers, but at least I think he won't have a load of answers to questions nobody asked (eg ID cards)0

I think there may be another alternative that's not listed....0

I voted conservative. What worries me though is that they will only be in for one term because it will be the term when everyone has to pay for labour's mistakes. Then labour will get in again, mess up the economy again, rinse and repeat.
In some ways I'd like labour to get in again just so that they would have to face up to the mess that they made but I fear too much for the damage they would cause if that was the case.0 -
What a choice! Nu labour or Tory. Think I`ll take a rain cheque!0

They're the same thing. Ones the American, the other is British. There are just two choices because no other party will win. If you don't know or don't care or could only want a minor party to win, please don't vote.
Good to see you have an open mind about democracy.0 -

Thank you.Good to see you have an open mind about democracy.
I know what you mean but I'd wager everything that I own that Labour or the Conservatives will form the next Government.

Just had a look in betfair and the Tories are 1.5 to get an overall majority in the next election, I would imagine if things were reversed and it was the Tories got us into the mess we are in now I would imagine that Labour would be much shorter than this. 1.5 looks a very good price to me.0

Hasn't Gordon Brown already done that for us all
Just kidding ... of course, he hasn't! Who could even suggest such a thing
On topic ... I would not personally rule out a hung Parliament, nor one in which there is agreement between two parties to pull us out of the mess - maybe not likely today, but I just don't think it can be ruled out by the time we have an election. If many little people, in many little places, do many little things,
they can change the face of the world.
